sword pommels

I RECENTLY RECOVERED THESE OLD SWORD POMMELS AT TWO DIFFERENT SITES. THEY APPEAR TO BE VERY OLD AND IN FACT WERE FOUND AMONGST KNOWN CIVIL WAR ARTIFACTS.
MY QUESTION IS .....DO THESE APPEAR TO BE CIVIL WAR ERA, AND IF SO, IS THERE ANY WAY OF TELLING IF THEY ARE UNION OR CONFEDERATE?

The one on the right appears to be confederate, possibly from a Dog River sword. Nice finds!
