✅ SOLVED Sword Hilt?

I need help identifying this hilt for a friend. She found it as a child in a dirt pile from construction excavating at her home in Overland park, Kansas and has kept it for the past 60 years always curious to it's age and origin. Nothing else was ever found during construction. Made of bronze, very clean with no seams or tool marks. Both sides are identical. No letters or numbers present anywhere. Any ideas?
