Sword hallmark

Templar mark. Remember reading something about red Templars or something like that using this mark.

I wonder if the hallmark is depicting Excalibur.

Here's a couple more pics showing markings on the blade and hilt. The sword is an Ames style 1844 foot artillery sword, probably made by Horstman, he used European blades and bought everything else from Ames. The scabbard is typical for the Oddfellows degree team swords.View attachment 1295674View attachment 1295675View attachment 1295676 The markings could be ordinance acceptance marks, many military surplus swords were sold to fraternitys. Note, this is the only lodge sword I have that actually has an edge, it's very sharp.

I don't know about that scabbard but the sword itself resembles a US Model 1832 Foot Artillery Sword.

edit- why did you even post this if you already had all the info you needed to id it? Or better yet, why didn't you give us ALL the information we needed to ID it beforehand?

not cool.

Does anyone recognize this sword hallmark, it appears to be an upraised arm holding a cross of Constantine.View attachment 1295507

Diggumup, you're missing the point. I want to know whose hallmark this,it's not American. If I know the maker, I can date the sword. The numbers and letters are irrelevant the hallmark is obviously hand engraved as opposed to acid etching, which put the sword closer to the 1830s than the 1890s.
