Yes,that would be likely,as that is about the time frame of that Fort,if I recall.I had a feeling about the Regiment of Foot,but was not positive how late they were active.....this buckle does not date to the 1820's......Here is more info of the 63rd Regiment
The regiment was briefly in Portugal from 1826 to 1828, but otherwise spent the 1820s in Britain and Ireland. In 1828 it was sent to Australia, later redeploying from there to India in 1833. It remained in India and Burma for 14 years, only landing back in England in 1847.
It served in the Crimean War in 1854 and in Canada from 1856 to 1862.
I believe your two piece tongue buckle would be from the Crimean War!
I thought it was british...could not find the 63...
