Strange day today.
Really wanted to get out; temp in the high 30's, sun, no wind;
dressed warm and was comfortable.
Hit a park in the next town over that I had never been to. Sand
volleyball area, kid playground with chips, sand, and dirt.
Everything frozen. Cold temps the last few days did me in. Got
down in the sand only about 1 inch and had to scrape after that.
Wood chips were the same; don't even ask about the ground.
Passed a teardown on the way to the park, so I drove back to
see if it was any better. Same, inch down and problems.
Finally ended up along an old canal, (without detector), scouting
for some signs of bottle dumps. Nothing special here.
Pulled up a few odds and ends and 26 cents in clad.
The strange find was these two Swiss coins found in the playlot.
Have no idea how they got there, and the funny thing is they were
in different parts of the playlot. Perhaps 25 yards separating them.
Some father is out his collection.
Went to google and it told me they are both copper/nickel. Thought I had
a 1/2 franc and a 20 franc.
No, the 20 is a 20 "Rappen"
Have no idea on the value.
So much for today, hope the ground starts to open up.
Made a note to hit that playlot again.
all have a good un.............
