J DEERE MOULD BOARD SHARE PLOUGH DIGGING TOOL AND GOLD

Hi All , As a hunter that is never been in hurry to disguard iron relics without giving them the respect that they are owed. Yes over the years on this forum i have a few smart replies about some of the relics i find . Well gee sure feels sweet when you can through a bit of mud back without saying one word. :laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

The first iron relic was a piece of J Deere Mould Board Share Plough which i made into a hand digging tool for gold metal-detecting . Forged and hard , never bends or breaks or gets worn down . Found quite a bit of gold over years with it. Even though it has a steel handle i filled with "sound sorb" which takes the shock out of a hard rock hit. Nice thought to use history to recover gold. Famous Australia Out Law "Ned Kelly" made his suit of steel armour out of Mould Board Share Plough pieces.

Late yesterday I dug 2 pieces of gold in 20 minutes at 10 inches and had little problem smashing them out of an ancient quartz vein . Total weight 1.15 grams of pure gold.

Another iron relic was an old fire fighters hand axe which i found in the back of a disused hay bail stacker . Just cleaned off the surface rust with a lemish disk in a 5 inch grinder and added an old handle. Still got another to clean up. Not just me and my metal detector . Its history and means to find> :goldtrophy::goldtrophy::goldtrophy:

I LOVE iron relics - especially old axe heads. They restore and display nicely. Good post.
