I am guess that the two darker pieces you have were heat treated. I have cooked a lot of Texas rock and cooking it up turns the grainy rock into butter smooth like those two dark pieces. Just a guess on my part. I love that Texas rock.

Some great looking hand tools! I really like that last one. Some super material you have there.

Thanx guys..Not sure if it was heat treated, but raw Rootbeer flint can look like that when raw.

So what period are you thinking on them Neo? Look old but truly nice, I like the tools they made.

You found some nice tools there, and some really pretty material. I also see that you found the cap to that old Lone Star beer bottle I tossed. :dontknow:, :laughing7:

I just put that in there for size lol......I am thinkin Mid archaic there abouts.Never found Paleo, but a fare bit of Early Arc....Early triangles,Nolans and the such.

Very nice finds, did you finds some charcoal bits as well??
Thanks for posting.

Yep thats some charcoal..I use it to fill in etching I make on limestone and bone things I make...All Abo...I find limestone pieces and bone, then I use flint flakes to shape and etch.I could prolly find some pix if anyone would like to see some.

That last piece has some steep beveling on it is the reason I asked. There is a nice large shaft scraper and I see some other pieces that made me wonder. I would go back to that spot.

I hear ya..It wast startin to look really good.....Then it started to rain harder, and I didnt want to clean off my shoes with my knife....lol

Yeah it rained on me today too. I was finding some good artifacts and I had to run back cause if the clay road got wet I wouldnt of gotten out. Ill get them next time!

hey man i like that material
musta been a fairly good supply of that where you hunt
