Well, its been a couple of months since I've put any pictures up. The weather was great today so we got out on a new piece of property that we had gotten permission on a few months ago......I think that me, my dad, and my buddy found a camp site..... :icon_sunny: Here are some pics...I have some what is its, and I hope it is its!

My finds.

Fantastic!!!!!!!
To find a buckle AND the Batwing to go with it is AMAZING!!!
CONGRATULATIONS on ALL of your finds.

What an amazing day!....Great digs to all you boys....I'm not qualified to answer to rather or not what kind of tag, other than it's a wonderful find. If I had to guess I would say it's a Union soldiers ID tag....Maybe someone else will jump in with an answer...Wow what a great site...You done good!

George

It's possible that is a private purchase ID tag in case the soldier was killed. There was a lot of concern among troops that they would die and their families would never know. It's an interesting piece and worth more research.

What a great day you had, I'd be back there tomorrow

It is an inch and 5/8 long...Don't think its a Whitworth, but I could be wrong. :icon_scratch:

There's some nice finds there, good luck on the tag ID

Hey Crash, that tag is a ID tag for a policy holder with that insurance company, I found one that belonged to a member of the Odd Fellows and they were insiued by the Ridgely Protective Agency in Worchester Mass...photos here....great find, but don't waste your time trying to get anyone to give you the name of the numbered policy holder....even out of business insurance companies won't give it up....Keep diggin and have a great day....Steve in Tenn.
