I was doing a dump at a bank machine today and a lady comes up and waits behind me with a few shoeboxes and bags full of change. While I was counting she told me she volunteers for a charity and collects the jars you see next to cash registers, etc. every week and runs them through the counter to deposit. I told her I look for silver and she said the machine spits out her silver dimes and that the tellers were hesitant about taking them since they were rejects. I couldn't believe it!!!
I told her I'd pay her a quarter apiece for those rejects and she asked for my card. She said she finds 3-5 a week. She said she would get a worthwhile pile of them together and call me. I helped her run the coins and found a wheatie and a 63 rosie in the mess. I don't even search for silver dimes but somehow have 34 of them this year due to coin machine conversations. I hope she calls me soon with a worthwhile pile!!!
