Hey everyone, this was the first coin dug sunday mourning. Range in a 86 on the dfx and was 6 inches deep right up against a bush. I thought maybe another half dollar was gonna come up but this did. It was really in bad shape so I did the best I could with it.

It reads like this front to back. Membership emblem of the good value club. Good Luck at the bottom. On the back it reads this Good for 1.00 on purchase of 10.00 or over. Use your credit here pay as you wear. Clothes you love to wear at prices your glad to pay. Union Credit clothing co.319 5th ave 2nd floor.

It's about the size of a half dollar. Neat good luck token.

Any body know any more about it let me know. I don't know a age. Guessing the 40's.

HH Jeremy

I would think older than the 40's. What did time did Hitler's crew start using the Swastika to a great extent?

Prior to WWII, the swastika was considered good luck. Hitler took this design, reversed the swastika, and used it as his symbol.
The token should pre-date 1938.

Cool good luck token!

BK got it right. The Swastika has been a symbol of power and luck for over 3000 years, if you don't believe it, just do a search on swastikas. Your swastika has all the other good luck charms as well, the horse shoe, four leaf clover, wish bone and I don't know what the other lucky charm is. This token may be where the Lucky Charms cereal comes from, LOL! The Boy Scouts of America even used the swastika prior to Hitler's abuse of the great symbol. I was surprised to see a swastika on a Roman ceramic vase dating over 1800 years old on a detecting trip to Colchester England. Very nice find and HH, Mike

Hi All,

Just for info, the Swastika was very much a Christian church emblem in the early christian church days untill Hitler took it for himself. I have also seen the emblem on Hindu churches and used on good luck charms.

God bless,
Peter

My friend found one almost exactly like it except it did't say Good for a dollar on it, the front swasticka part is exactly like his though, I think his was worth like $15-$30 on eBay! nice find! HH CS

Thanks guys, You are all right on. Did some research found some similar one's. They are advertising medals from what I have read. Made between 1907 and 1936. I'm guessing this one is closer to the early 1900's. It was a cool find because I don't have one of these yet.

Thanks for the help

HH Jer

Thanks for the info. I have learned alot more from you all about swastika's in a few days over a find than I knew my whole life about them. You can learn alot in this hobby and sometimes you don't even realize it.
