Here's an interesting question that I'm sure has been asked before. Has anyone ever used a detector to find stuff that was swallowed? I keep thinking of that episode on M*A*S*H where Klinger tries to eat a Jeep to get that section 8.:sadsmiley:

hey doc,
I imagine the handheld security detectors from garrett would work well in your office.or be patient and use any ol tector(eeeeeeew)

I'm not a real Doctor. i got the name Dr. Witty from an old TV show that was popular back in the 70's and 80's in Central NY called EIVOM. It was 2 characters introducing B Horror movies that we used to watch on Saturday afternoons. This show was hosted by Epal- a crazy hunchbacked goon and Dr. Witty a bejeweled disembodied hand. Both actors are dead now, but their legend lives on. Dr. Witty is my geocaching name as well. EIVOM is MOVIE spelled backward, kinda silly, but we loved it as kids.

Yes, I have. My grandson swallowed a penny by accident and we tracked it as it went through his intestines, each day we would mark his belly with a felt pen, on the third day it was gone. He asked where it went and when we told him the look on his face was priceless!

My knucklehead son told me about the time he shot himself in the hand with a BB pistol.... This was news to me, as his mother is an idiot, and I hadn't seen him through a summer break. My pro-pointer confirms his lack of judgement.

Son in law has a bb in his calf from his less than wise years, yes we found it.
As for a piece of lead in someone's derrière....not going there! Lol!

In the 1960's my best friend had a bowel obstruction. The Dr. had him swallow a lead ball. For days his poor mother had go through his..... nevermind. Did find it though! No metal detector needed.

no,but I'll swing my machine over the metal plate in my head just for kicks

When I was a GI, my drill sergeant told me to get the lead out. :laughing7:

From various motorcycle crashes and assorted episodes of stupidity, I am sporting some titanium and stainless steel for the rest of my life. Thank God is all in my arms and shoulders, or I might not be able to detect. Wouldn't that suck!

My wife worked in an emergency room and has said I wouldn't believe what some people have swallowed. I won't go in ti details.
