Situational awareness - #1 It's dangerous out there, and we need to keep from becoming too absorbed with our detecting. I use a beep and dig most the time to free up my eyes from scanning a screen for ID #'s, and only use one side of my earphones so I can listen to what is going on around me. I've had some close calls, and think these practices have saved my hide several times. The predators are out and about searching for unaware targets.

It's sad how cell phones have changed society into a bunch mindless of drones.
My lil bro & his wife, for instance, cant keep track of their kids while they are sitting in the room with them due to their attention being focused on their stupid phones.
