Don't you love it when you find pieces that you had packed away and had forgotten about? Well. last night I was out in my artifact room for about 3 hours getting an accurate count on my collection that I have on display, which ended up at 10,436 pieces, and I found 9 nice Blades that I had taken to a show a few years back and forgot to ever unpack when I got back home.
The first two pieces on the left in the top row where found on the same site just a few feet apart, but that was back before I knew what a Cache was and I'm sure they may have been from a Cache since they are the same material. The site is off limits now so I'll never know for sure.
The next two in the top row are almost identical in the way the tips are made. Both have been flaked like that on purpose and both are very sharp. The large white one came from a field near Peebles Ohio and was found by my father as he was walking to a pond to go fishing. I looked around the area after that and found a few decent pieces. The brown one came from Franklin Furnace and was found by me many years ago. The base on that one has been made that way and has two very shallow notches, but it is very sharp. The backside is almost completely uniface except for right at the base and it is flaked on there. I wonder if that end was used as some kind of tool?
The others are just common small Blades, though the one on the far right is very thin and very well made with a really nice sharp cutting edge.
