Me and my dad got out yesterday to one of our first hunting grounds next to an old Sugar mill, testing the AT pro in zero mode. Did not expect to find this after aluminum can after aluminum can...
What are the chances it still has fabric on it, or is that part of the bullet such as wrapping?

We also found this Boy scout handkerchief slide, with initials etched on the back "M.B". I find that just as cool, wish it was possible to figure out whose it was!

Nice!!!!! Congrats!!!!!

Interesting bullet and the brass neckerchief slide is good find. Congrats on your hunt.

Nice! That LOOKS LIKE a Confederate nose cast minie. Take a hand lens to look at the fiber. It could be from a pocket or such also.

Thanks all! It does kinda look like it, I think its just been fired though. But its a first for both of us!

Great find. Congratulations :icon_thumright:

Very cool, congrats :icon_thumleft:

I don't see any rifling marks on it in your pictures. I think that it was dropped as a full cartridge and that the string/fabric is part of the cartridge wrapping. I'd go back and pound that area. More than likely there were troops in the vicinity. You might even be close to a campsite.
