Took pics from numerous angles to show consistency in luster and color. This whole specimen shows spots of native metal, but also has large amounts of what looks like rich gold ore. I don't really target gold all that often, and I have no metal testing kit as of yet, but it certainly looks left to me. Opinions? p

My guess would be that it's Pyrite.

Only way (I know of) to know for sure would be to crush the rock, and then
pan the material.

I agree with Dizzy, pyrites. As Dizzy said if there is gold in it crushing and panning would give a definite answer~ provided you know how to pan and what to look for I'd just keep it as it is.

Damn! Lol. Still a pretty looking piece. I'll give it to one of the little kids in the neighborhood and tell them it's real gold. I'm sure they'd love it.

While what you are seeing on the surface is pyrite, that does not automatically negate the possibility that your sample contains some gold. Pyritic gold ores do exist but the gold is almost always micron gold and would be very difficult to separate from the heavy pyrite by panning. A chemical process such as cyanide leaching is necessary.
