My boy found this today when we were working some old Military homes built in the late 30's early 40's. Thinking its Military airlift command but can't find anything. Or I could be completely wrong, please help. It come out of the ground looking like this, is it silver?

Military Air Cargo? An acid test will tell you if it's silver or not. Probably stainless if it's been in the ground a while.
