Last weekend I was detecting in a creek where I have found several 18th century relics & I came across the sight in the first picture. At first glance I thought "Dang-I just found a whole musket!!" Unfortunately when I pulled it out of the sand & found out that it was not a gun at all, but a long (about six feet) solid iron metal rod with a crook on the end of it. This thing is HEAVY, so I left it in the creek-but I can always go back & retrieve it if it is something worth the trouble. Crook2.webpCrook1.webpCrook3.webpCrook4.webp

It looks like a spanner wrench with a handle weleded onto it.

Go get it, it makes a great wall hanger at some fancy restaurant.
