I just ran across this in the stuff I found years ago. I cannot find an image of it anywhere on the web. Even the Wadhams Extra Fine with the horse on it that I posted previously had two images on the web, and it is very rare.

Anyone have more info on this button with the Irish Setter on it? (Who made it, age, worth, etc.)

Hello,

The button featuring an Irish Setter is a rare find with limited information available online, unlike the Wadhams Extra Fine button. Its maker, age, and worth remain elusive. Further research or consulting with collectors or exports may provide more insights into its origin and potential value.

Super button. I’ve not seen one like it. Where was it found? USA, Canada, Britain… ? That info may help. Thanks

Nice button. Looks to be the same as this one:

Don't know how reliable the claimed '1880-1900' date is, but I would have put it a little earlier. No maker information given, and will be difficult to track down without a more informative backmark.

PS: it's not an Irish Setter. It's an English Pointer. You can tell the difference by the length of the coat. Pointers are short-haired.

It is the same design, but the one I have measures almost 1.1". You can see more of the design around the rim on my piece.

I would have said it was found in the US, but thinking about it, I found it in a drawer with the coins I found in Switzerland, so there is a good chance I found it there. I was thinking from the design of the symbols around the edge that it might be British, but who knows? The English Pointer would seem to indicate British as well.

Thanks, Red Coat.
