Super low tone 3.5 Briggs muffler

thanks for posting that. I just got a briggs 3.5 with 2 inch. I will be needing that to be KALIFORNISITAN compliant :laughing7:

it worked for me

long flex pipe into a bucket of water works 8-)

OK your the man as I'll order asap as the real deal is always the best, hope their in stock as back order 2 shops up here. Thanks much as always, pms also received-John

John I have a backup plan for you if needed I will not post it here though. Just let me know if you need it

I was advised to NOT get a low tone muffler for any two stroke engine/pump motors because of the back pressure it produces. Now its great for 4 stroke engines and Im planning on getting one for my 4 inch Keene dredge .

THAT is why I buy only factory parts as no restrictions just a increase in size to baffle and NOT restrict like stupid ideas of pipe underwater which blows' up engines. John

I wonder how quiet it would get with a car muffler?

Because of noise in the neighborhood, I adapted a car muffler to my briggs powered 4 cycle generator to use during storm outages. I works very well and holds well for days of use during long outages.

Nice!

Also remember that a lot of sound comes from the case itself.
Building a box to put your engine in will reduce the sound that much more.
Of course you have to work around heat, intake and exhaust.

Our engines are air cooled and rebreathing exhaust back into the intake will fry them from heat and lack of oxygen plus cooling air much needed. Both you AND your engine will be in dire straights pretty quick. John

John, I believe there is a way around this, it would involve some engineering but I think it's possible. Would require some ducting for air and maybe a 12v radiator fan or something then building a case around it.

I haven't had the time yet for this project but think of the honda 2K generators, they are air cooled and quiet because of the case around them and specially designed exhaust systems. May just have to think out of the box.

I may tear my honda gen set apart just to get some ideas.

Convalution is never the solution, just keep it simple-2 lousy bolts on/off and your done. EZ,simple and much cheaper. Wish ya luck but don't sacrifice a expensive generator with rubegoldbergs-John
