Edit

So this is my oldest coin and first capped bust.

Got home and cleaned it up. 1827 capped bust! All I can say is wow. I was leaving the spot and hit it next to a nail. It was getting way to hot out, I was pouring sweat after 10 or 15 minutes and decided to call it quits. I'm glad I swung on my way out of the woods.

Will be going back for sure! Thanks for checking this out! GL & HH!!!!

OMG. That looks sort of like a 2 cent piece ! Possibly a shield coin of some type ?

Almost home....water and a tooth brush??

you're much more patient than me. For me, it would have been spit and my shirt :laughing7:

WOWZERS!

With a magnifying glass or something?

Congrats on a beauty! I am pretty positive I can see "10 C" on the reverse.

If the 1 in the date is has a flat top instead of pointed it makes it more rare

Absolutely beautiful coin. Congratulations on a fantastic find.

Thanks everyone I'm pretty excited, I have a question for everyone though, would this be worth sending off to have graded and slabbed? Any idea of how much that would run me? I may do it since it's my oldest find.

thanks for the better pics, totally awesome coin. not having one myself, I just wanted a better view just in case i somehow manage to find one myself. Stokesville for sure!
