I dug this out of 5 inches of soil. It appears to be brass and the nut turns on the threaded attachment.
I'm guessing that it was attached to a toy or belt.
Any Ideas??

This isn't exactly the same, as the back is configured differently, and the front of yours is more stylized (cooler), but the text is the same enough that I'm convinced.

Edit: I've been trying to figure out where it went on the car so as to confirm the above. My best guess so far is that it's the center cap to the steering wheel.

I still haven't found a picture of this on a car, but similar ones that I see are listed as a bumper badge, emblem or medallion.
