I was really lucky on this Coin Roll Hunt so I think I will buy a lottery ticket to see if my luck holds!

I got some hand wrapped pennies at the bank the other day and went back to get more...you will see why! Out of $75 of pennies I got the following; 687 Wheaties, 97 Indian Heads, including 3 1864 one of which is an L variety, 1866, 1868. A couple of King George Canadians, 4 foreign coins, 9 proof pennies. And the big suprise amazingly an 1858 Flying Eagle! Also did some dime rolls got 2 Silver Rosies and a 50% Silver Canadian dime.

good find, hopefully 1 of the 8 boxes of cents I ordered is just like this. Also, bell, around this site, there are serious coin collectors (numismatists), who will scold you really bad for using the term 'penny' in place of cent.

That is the best results on cents I have ever seen here in 2 years. Can't imagine finding all those IH and a Flying Eagle!

Congrats

That's fantastic. I usually try to avoid the hadn wrapped rolls for pennies because I find so few wheats (although copper % is higher, but I'm a hand sorter so that doesn't really phase me). I feel like even before I was a CRHer, I'd keep wheat pennies if I came accross them, and it seems like most other people do as well. I'm amazed by your finds. Congrats!!!

Amazing, these are hard times and people are using there collections as normal money. I have done it before, I would go through my collection and find stuff that at the moment were not worth anything more than face value. I used to save all the older bills I found from the 50-70 I found and one day I was so broke I had to use them to buy food. I have used dollar coins because I had to, none were silver but still it was a sad day for me. This is a good time to CRH because of this, I would get every kind of change possible if I had the money from pennies (I call them pennies, I don't care) to dollar coins CRHing. Alot of gems can be found.

I know the correct term but go into a bank and ask for "cents" and see the confusion in the eyes of the tellers!

That's got to be the best cent score i've ever seen. Congrats!!

That is just unbelievable... Congrats on the amazing find.. I will say, that the pictures look like some of those coins were dug by a dirt fisher.. There might just be a husband out there somewhere who is ready to divorce his wife for dumping his coins.. :laughing7:

Nice score! I hope when you went back you asked if the person brought in any other rolled coin. I can only imagine if they did what would be in them!

THIS IS AMAZING! Congrats on a once in a lifetime haul, thank you for sharing, and HH!

Must be the week of flying eagles! I found my first one this week too, although yours is in a lot better condition than mine is.

Forgot to ask but any good years in all of those wheat cents?

Thanks for the Share! What an AMAZING stash of pennies! You think someone rolled all of those pennies up? or maybe someone just found rolls of pennies in a shoe box and said hey look pennies, im going to go cash them in. Whatever the case. Whoever lost those pennies I bet sure wishes they had those pennies back! Man I wish I had me some pennies to go through right about now...

anyway, just poking a bit of fun, but in all seriousness, WOW. I just can't beleive the haul you had, and some other peoples on here... I get stoked if i find 3 wheats in a roll.
