Sunray inline probe

It mounts on the upper shaft of your detector with a switch box on the side.Your coil then hooks into the bottom of the switch box.
Then when you find a target you pinpoint with your detector, then you flip the switch from target(coil) to probe. Then you have a hand detector to pinpoint in the hole with.
I have one on all 3 of my explorers and would highly suggest if you can afford one get one!!!
checkout sunray detctors and you can look at them online..

Hands down the best pinpointer ever made. You are actually buying a mini detector. In the soil around here it gets about two to three inches in depth. When in a park with lots of shallow junk and clad, get a signal, grab your probe, it puts you dead on, you pop it up and move on. You just go along popping the stuff out of the ground left and right. When you get a deeper target, dig your plug, you do not have to pick up your detector to check the plug or hole. Check both with your sunray until recovered. Sooooo easy a caveman could do it.

If you own a minelab its a must! I know, I have a minelab without one! I have a heck of a time finding deep coins without it, even using a handheld probe. Whites machines pinpoint better, dont need one, though it might helf you speed up you recovery.

everyone already said it. if they make it for your brand detector (they don't make it for every brand or model) but if they do, get one! it is the easiest and deepest i've used

Well, I have one for my Explorer II. Hate to be without it. My son uses the DFx. He doesn't have one. Only time he needs me is when he can't find the deep target. Most of the time I come over and it's either at one side of the hole or it's deep iron.

Best accessory you are going to get for your machine. Think of it as a 1" coil for the inside of your holes when the coin isn't in the plug. It will direct you straight to it.

I have the sun ray on both of my EX2's but there is another solution. I just got a fisher F-75 and there isn't a probe for that and none in the near future. What I did is I got a Detector Pro pocket Uni probe that will work with ALL detectors. I use a mono ear bud that fits under my headphones and the box clips to my belt with the wire running up under my shirt. The Uni will detect a coin to about 6 inches, does not add any weight to the detector and is simple to use.

The xi does not add any noticable weight to the detector.
I started out with the hand held type probe..to me it was a pain to have to carry an extra piece of equipment on my belt and go back to the detector from the pinpointer to check the hole...
Just my opinion..and i bet they will come out with a probe in the near future...

Would be nice if they did but in the meantime the Uni works very well and with the 6 inch extra detection depth after cutting a plug I seldom have to go back to the detector to pinpoint. It is far better than any of the other hand helds I have tried
