A bright sunny day here in England, but a bitter wind! Am seriously considering investing in a Balaclava! 🫤

But we had another great day, a beautiful Livery button, lots of normal buttons and a couple of small buttons, one has a nice pattern the other has the initials LR ? the pretty one has a different shank to normal?

Some buckles, a diamond shaped pin, a gorgeous hook and a small broach ? 2 bullets, some lead bits ? Some crust coins, one George V 1916. A huge bit of Lead and some grey pottery!

The fields are on top of a hill, just outside a village, so took a picture of the old windmill, now unfortunately converted into a house, built in 1805 it’s called a Smock Mill, apparently they got their name from the smocks worn by farmers! 😃xx

Amazing finds !!!!! That Key hole Type relic on the 8th photo down from the top looks like a saddle flash, very similar to those found on the Military "McClellan" saddle 1860s on

Ha ha… Yes a balaclava not to be confused with baklava 😂😂 xx

The smocks like Windy Miller?

The Tudor Clothes fastener had a repair, it was longer & broke its hook & then re-bent it.

Those fields look huge in the photos. Is that a trick of the camera lens or are they very large? I think the windmill would be a nice place two live, with the height and all the window, like an observation tower.

I dont actually know how big they are …
Here is satellite pic of the area we have been doing recently… Picture was taken in yellow crossfield… not sure if that gives u an idea of size 🤔 xx
