"Sunday Plunder & 1st Ring"

I went to a different school this morning since school let out for them summer last friday in the quest for my first large person ring. After a coule of hours of clad and some trash I was walking between two play areas and got a nickle hit and thought OK one more, and 4" down in my first plug popped out my first real "925" silver ring. It says LIFE printed on the outside. Ah a new motto, AARRGGGG. Total is 34 coins, two keys, couple of buttons and misc trash. All in all I'd say a good day. My Mexican Pesos are starting to add up too. Where you at IMA?

Shiver me timbers, great find there. And congrats on your first grown up ring . They will start falling for the sky in front of you. No, really you will be amazed how many you start finding. .

And you will be totally sick of tin foil, pencil tops, and pull tabs before the day is over if you want to find gold.

Just one thing, if it came in around the nickel area, I'd check to see if it is white gold. Unless it says "925" on the inside somewhere. Silver should be way higher on any MD scale. You did rescan the hole after you filled it in, right?

Yeah it says 925 and I did rescan tha hole. Maybe cause I search in coin mode?

If you have some silver, scan it and then scan the ring. Coin mode should only eliminate signals, so I wouldn't expect it to change where silver reads.

I just checked my "nickel" silver, and it is plated. Specfic gravity is wrong (8-8.5) for silver and the nitric acid test revealed the copper underneath.

Just FYI. Hope yours is the real deal.

Sweet find....I'm jealous. I spent 2.5 hours today at a local park and no rings. But I did find a purty green pull tab. Keep digging!

AAARRRRGGGGGGG !!!!! There's mutiny afoot !!!!
Here I am Rudy !!! I had sweet visions of getting out to detect 2 or 3 times over the weekend, but it didn't workout for me. Wish I could have been there to share in the excitement.
