WOW what a day it was this past Sunday. A friend and I have been hitting this place pretty hard every Sunday for about a month now, so I really wasn't expecting too much. After about an hour in a plowed field way on the other side of the farm I hit on the wheat. It's not in the best of shape, but it is a 1909 wheat (no S). A couple of hours later another hit and what a bullet it was. It is a Williams Cleaner. They were issued 1 for every 10 regular bullets. Nothing more until after lunch and in a differant field I hit three more bullets, one of which has a star and is a Washington Arsenal round. A few more adds and ends. If anyone has any 411 on some of these finds please share. Last hit of the day was a great little flat button. It has thin straight lines on the front and the back has "BENEDICT & BURNHAM, WATERBURY, and EXTRA SUPER ?FINE?" The fine is in question as it is very hard to definitively identify. I know Waterbury has been making buttons since 1812 I checked with them with no positive result. Any help? Thanks

Benedict and Burnham 1834-43. Nice finds!

Thanks Mike. I do so enjoy putting time and history with my finds. It seems to really solidify the finds and makes them even more personaly valuable. Here is the front of the button (not enough space the first time). Thanks again.
