Hit a nice stone foundation today that gave brass buckle after brass buckle with some cool relics. There were signals everywhere and way to much ground to cover in a day. But I did have a blast. I've never dug a buckle before so today I had some making up to do..:laughing7: It seemed like every signal was a buckle, all different sizes spread throughout the site. The first one is extremely nice and what I believe is from a Colonial shoe. The circular piece with the bolt coming out rang up like silver and even wiped clean like silver, although it may be aluminum. Every dug piece was a surprise, unlike the typical locations where you can have a good idea what's in the hole, working a foundation as many know is a very different experience. Although not easy digging, with patience it was rewarding. Please share if you know how old and what type they are. The large spoon is very old, the complete one may be more modern. The other finds are also interesting with a few recognizable ones, the others are a mystery. No coins today, hopefully the next hunt there will yield a LC or Colonial copper :icon_thumleft:

Enjoy & HH!!

There's definitely still coins there. Get back there and find them!!:laughing7:

You got some nice finds there, I love the first buckle with the flower and vine decoration. The broken spoon looks pewter
early to mid 1800s. I'd like to know what the item next to the complete spoon is. Looks brass.

Thanks relicmaster!! I agree, the first buckle is a really nice piece. It is impressive in person and should clean up well. You may be correct regarding the broken spoon. I've dug an old toy gun that was also made from pewter and it's very similar. The item next to the complete spoon is upside down in the pic, but I it may be a brass candle holder. What do you think??

That buckle is quite beautiful. Great save! I was thinking the item in the bottom right corner was once the tip of a flag pole, as I have found one before. Any wood inside it?

The cellar hole NJLARGECENT and I pounded for 2 days in MA didn't yield any coins either. We were really stumped, but found a TON of amazing relics.

Thanks Grant! I haven't cleaned it up yet but I'll definitely ck it out tomorrow. Now that you mention it, it is possible.

I guess some people really watched their money...lol When I came across that buckle, I thought for sure I had a half dollar, it sounded that good!

Stacked stone foundation, nice start! Top picture on the right: two leaves with a figure 8 or infinity symbol and the earthen colored round thing with the item coming out of the earthen thing - Is the leafy item considered a shoe buckle or a broach? The earthen item, is that the one that when wiped came out looking silver? What does a side view of the earthen thing look like and what are its dimensions, maybe include a modern coin next to it if you post another picture of it just so we can judge size. Have the scissors cleaned up at all, any information stamped on them?

What a great bunch of finds and somehow that quantity speaks of more to come. I suspect from the leafy figure 8/infinity bobble that these folks were better off than others. Congratulations on the finds and the find of the site and thank you for sharing with us..................63bkpkr
