1 by 3/8 little dart triangle found by me in a field in Henry County Alabama. I noticed that this is slightly uniface on one side just now since taking pictures, pretty cool. Luckily it was laying out completely exposed.

Looks alot like one I found in the Oklawaha. I like the little ones too. Good find!

Sweet find!
I find alot of those "true arrowhead" triangles and many of them are partially uniface because most if not all, would have been made from large flakes rather than core reduction, so naturally thin and in no need of further flaking.

Material look exactly like Brazos cobble from Texas. Sweet little heat treated point. Good find.

Definitely not meant for large game, I always thought these little ones were used when the bow came into play for small game. Besides this I've found a few bird points around this size at the same site, also found a good number of Bolens, Stemmed Points, 1 Boggy Branch and some I have no idea. I think they were in that area awhile.

Oddly I believe they were for large game. After the biwcwas invented killing was a penetration game. Punch those lungs with a half inch wide point and ok buff died in a couple minutes. O know Texas State excavated a bison with a perdiz stuck in a rib that had passed through the chest cavity and stuck on the back side.

I agree with this. As a hunter, the tips on my arrows and even bullets are small, if the shot is true it takes very large game down. But I’m no expert, just basing opinion to what I have experienced hunting. Great thread

That makes sense, I could actually see both small darts like this and certain types of larger spear points with sharp "needle tips" used for the same purpose.
