Hey guys, my family is taking a trip down to Georgia this summer and we are going to be passing through Tennessee on the way down. We we're wondering if anyone had any decent spots we might be able to get a quick hunt in as we're going through., and on the laws of detecting in the state.

We're not looking to take from anyones honey hole, just hoping to get in a quick stop to swing a little bit. You can reply to this or PM me if you have any info. Thanks for any help! FilthyFlyer

mostly any city or county park is open to detecting unless your around nashville, chattanooga or another area where lots of civil war activity occured. Off limits: tennessee state parks, national parks, tva property(need permit, see tva website). One type of hunting i like to do while traveling is to check the motel room over good. Look under mattresses, behind drawers and such but i have had the most luck by getting up very early and checking between the rows of parked cars....good hunting
