Almost hit 70 degrees yesterday, today was near 60, no coat needed. My Phlox blossomed, I think we're going to have to mow the lawn ::). What's up with this?

I have hit a new level in metal detecting, I can claim fame to nails (of all ages shapes and sizes) and large rusty cans! Wait until you see the beauty of these cans ;D, the rich brown color will melt your heart.

I did find a broken buckle, got both pieces also. An old fuse from the The Chase Shawmut co. 15 AMR 125 VOLT. A bullet from Peterson Target, No 2 no less. The little tin piece says TIPPER GT on the bottom. The nails.........wow.......first five targets were old nails, then finally a newer screw, YES!

You will see there are many uses for nails, even greetings ;). Thanks for your time!

I'm down on the island and I noticed a bunch of stuff sprouting today thats about 3 or 4 months early, not good. I'm also in the home heating oil business which is even in worse shape. So much for winter!!!

Cool finds! It hit 70 here yesterday in CT... i wish it would snow. The grass is growing up too.

They are worried in Pennsylvania that warm temperatures will cause peach and apple blossoms to come out, only to get nipped by inevitable cold. We love the warm weather, but if it continues, we'll be sorry later this year.

I can see the rich choclate brown, but does it melt in your hand ? ;D
More rain here, down in the 40's today, maybe I can get out later this week ???

Hey Country Girl. I know what you mean. We had it in the fifties yesterday here in Northern Vermont. Today was about 45. Ground is not even frozen. I can't believe it, but love it anyway....Lance

Hi countrygirl that was one funny post. I feel better now just knowing that I am not the only one digging up all the nails around here. Keep at it good things will come. Who knows, with weather we may be hunting all winter ;D

Absolutely crazy weather, I should mention the tiger lilly's are poking out of the ground also. I think it will be an off year for the vegitaition, poor things are confused. :-\

Don't get dishearted about your finds. Where there are old cans there are often old bottles, but a little deeper in the ground because they are heavier and sink. As for the weather, I suggest all you folks enjoy it because you might get more snow than you want when it finally arrives. You know what they say, "when it rains it pours." "when it snows it blizzards." Or something like that. LOL

You are so right, when we finally get the snow...........we'll get burried!

I'm not frustrated, got to get out and get dirty. At least there's no cabin fever yet. Gotta love the outdoors and this hobby.

Looks like you found a good spot.....nice finds....even the L 's in Hello! ;)
