I am looking to buy a second detector. I will be using it for mainly coin hunting in parks and old houses. This will also be a detector for my wife to use if she wants. I want it to have a visual ID, good discrimination and all this for under $500. Asking for too much?? I picked up a Tesoro outlaw at a good price but I have been spoiled with visual ID so the outlaw may have to go. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Whatever MD you finally decide on - please consider buying one from one of

I'd suggest you take a look at the Fisher F5. It likes coins and jewelry, has a large visual display and gives you constant ground conditions as you move across the soil.

Hello. I have the Ace 350 good machine for coins. But I hear the AT Pro is a coin magnet. I'm in spartanburg. So your about a 4 hour drive from me lol.

I'd suggest putting more time in with the Outlaw. Outstanding discrimination and instead of a screen thumbing the disc tells you the same as reading numbers.
I played around in a test garden with mine for several hours before actually taking it out for it's first hunt.
I don't miss my Explorer SE or GTI 2500 as this can do the same thing. It even picks up tiny small gold chains my others couldn't.

If your determined to get rid of it, then yes an F4, F5 would be good choices.
But once you "get" the Outlaw, it's amazing.
