I am going to throw something out here.
I had a very scary event happen to me that I wanted to share.
2 weeks ago, I had an episode where 20 minutes out of the day I don’t remember. During this time I was fully cognizant and within the moment conversing with my wife but could not remember simple answers like who the president was or where our family was going the upcoming weekend. Mind you, I don’t even remember her asking these. To me, the day was normal.
This scared her as well as my family so a decision was made to go to the hospital. Let the tests begin. CT scan, EKG image, MRI, EEG ( both 20 min and 24 hour) , blood tests, and Spinal tap (that was fun) for bacteria in the fluid. ALL test came back negative and normal except some questionable waveforms from the EEG that showed seizure activity.
They prescribed KEPPRA and wanted to monitor activity.
While on KEPPRA, no seizure activity was caught.
Very frustrating because they do not know what happened.
Their conclusion was I had a subclinical seizure that emulated a TGA.
KEPPRA twice a day and a baby aspirin until further notice.
A positive take away from this is they said I have a heart of an athlete and I am in very good physical condition.
I got to thinking since this was a neurological episode, does anyone know if the constant beeps of a metal detector through headphones can cause this. Silly I know but I can’t think of anything that could have triggered this. Am I way off base here?
has anyone had or known anyone who have experienced this after prolong use of a metal detector?
