Sub-bottom Profiler

Old Hands:

Is there such a thing as an inexpensive sub-bottom profiler? I've seen a few home-built side scan units that were very impressive. I'm wondering if anyone has done same with a profiler?

Nothing comercially available at this time...som of the really smart guys are working on them. It's still a new technology and pretty difficult to read and interpret what it's telling you. My guess is that it won't be too terribly long before we start seeing some less expensive models, and then followed shortly by the DIY plans.

Hi Robert
It is called a stratabox and it is fairly simple to setup and use. A company in Texas rents them.
