Well I lucked up this weekend and came upon a decent size street tearout near downtown.
The area used to have a trolley running through it. I managed to find a pic of it online too.
Ended up with 3 nickels and a 14K gold ring with inscription Saturday.
Was also able to take some really nice pavers home.

Went back Sunday to see if I couldn't get more pavers and a piece of the track that was ripped out. Any detecting finds would just be a bonus.
Ended up with a bent 1885 seated dime, some more brick, and a 5' section of trolley track, which was all I could lift by myself.
There was no effort being made to save the brick and the track was likely going to the scrap-yard, so I decided to save a little bit of some local history.

Congratulations! What a find you came across. Love the old picture to give your finds the old location.

Very nice finds:icon_thumright:

Awesome stuff. Anytime some history is saved it’s a good day.

Nice hunt. A gold ring with an inscription is near the top of my bucketlist

I never knew how the street dept would react to people metal detecting on tear out....right now they are doing streets all around our courthouse and you can see the old brick road under it and old trolly lines.

Nice assortment of finds when a 14k ring is included with a seated dime.

Wooo hooo, nice score bonepicker, congrats !!!
