This was found at a Ca beach near Half Moon Bay. Any insight is welcome. It seems to be a type of granite that has been well worn by the ocean best I can tell. The back has no markings and is flat. Thanks Alex.

Yeah I have no idea, at first I thought Medusa but you make a good point. It's heavy so I wonder how far it could have traveled from where the boat went down or container was lost. Got to head to work but I'll def check back tonight, thanks for the reply Joe! Alex

I was thinking the Hindu goddess Kali. The statue appears to have 8 arms just like Kali.

It was probably tossed by someone fed up with their' religion or some fed up with someone else's religion! It is very doubtful that it came from a downed boat or container.

Thank you for all the replies gents. Wily Dunk thank you I like it too lol.
Jojo I looked up Kali and the Mahakali Mahakali - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia def looks similar good suggestion.
Surf- the head does look like Ganesh but it's so worn it's hard to tell, also a good suggestion.
Frank- interesting theory I shall keep my eye out for people having these sorts of breakdowns and throwing their religious artifacts away something I hadn't considered lol :laughing7:

Nice I usually find the plaster statues around here that float, this is the first granite one and seems the oldest but the ocean really makes it tough to date, wish I could test the material for where it originated easily. Do you do any gold or treasure hunting in Vietnam Mike?
