I found these rocks washed up on New Smyrna Beach and ordinarily I wouldn't have picked them up, but they all had a signal of 80-85 on my detector..... Can you identify what these are? They registered in the are of silver (and aluminum cans)..... Just Curious because we usually don't get hot rocks in Florida

Dose a magnet stick to them? do they seem overly heavy for a rock that size?

Take them to a university geology dept and find out what type they are and if they are native to the area found. If not, they are likely ballast stones and you could have a wreck very close to shore.

Hot rocks are rocks that have a high iron content in them and they usually will register as iron on the VDI screen. The fact that these are registering as silver could very well be unprocessed silver ore. There have been wrecks of ore-carrying ships off the coast of Florida.

You may want to consider having those rocks fire-assayed to see what is really in them and how much...... I hope it will be VERY GOOD news for you!

A magnet does NOT stick, but they are heavy for their size

I only have 4 of them & silver is only around $32 an oz
