I was secretly hoping it was a ring that would give me super powers when I wore it (we can dream right?), so I could save this world from themselves... but, when I put it on, I didn't have any 'powers'. BTW, the color is from the lights... It looks like it's all silver.

Are you pimping that ring, Mike? :tongue3: Sounds better than Viagra! ::) .. Can't help with an ID, but it sure is an odd looking symbol.

No, I'm not wearing it. (smile). But, I think perhaps I need to take a closer shot of it because the background (the circle) of the ring is actually very intricate, despite the overall lack of detail of the more pronounced features. It's a very strange ring indeed. The circle background has a lot of lines in it.

Seal ring as stated earlier. Melt a big lump of red wax and stick it in. You'll then see the design as it's meant to be seen. No idea where it's from though sorry.

Cool looking ring. It looks like I see some green on it (top left) which would be indicative of copper, probably silver plated.

Another close up in the 1st post... It now looks like the inner coin shape has been 'soldered in' (see the photo on the right side). So, just out of curiosity... is this ring of any value to me? The owner? Or is it just a 'keeper'. I can't really remember the exact location where I found it because usually when I find rings, I try to make it look like I found a pop-top and toss some 'dirt' onto the ground, and quickly move on (am I the only one that does this evil maneuver?).

EDIT: I still don't have any special powers.... darn it.

Cleaned up with 99 alcohol... green is gone, as with other dirt.

Looks like you've got a replica ring. Definitely cast not carved. Nice find either way. Whoever cast the ring didnt get the material hot enough, so you can probably rule out it being manufactured.

This looks to be a Navajo ring, likely made on a Navajo reservation in Arizona. This particular ring, in my judgment, dates to about 1930 or 1940. The figure represents a divinity or religious figure. Basically it's depicting a sacred Navajo man or god.

Very nice!

I'm not seeing it as Navajo. Do you have a link or picture referencing the design depicting it as stated above?

This is only my opinion. I've had some personal experience with native artifacts over the years and this is what I see in the design. I'm sure with a bit of on-line research the design could easily be attributed to a specific native culture.
