Hello everyone

Been awhile since my last post. I'm still hunting frequently. Just not posting often. But today I wanted to share a strange spill. I've been hunting for a lot of yrs and never found a coin this old mixed with so newer.

Day started crummy. Bad traffic couldn't get to my original plan. I was close to home so I spun a uturn headed for a hammered park close to home

After about two hrs a few wheats here and there I climb up a steep hill and at the very crest I get a high tone on the etrac

I look down and see a large coin sticking half way out of the ground. Pick it up thinking Kennedy half. No it's a 1917 farthing. I'm like I'll take it. Two ft away another high tone 1 inch down 1834 ? Half cent. It's well worn but only the second one I've found in 21 yrs

Then two ft away low tone 1936 buff. I'm like man is this a crazy coin spill. Just thought I'd share this one with you guys

I've had a nice yr. Hoping to get a few more months in before it freezes

HH Jer

That is a strange one buddy. But I'd take that any day. I actually like the look of that half cent. Sometimes a coin just happens to wear in a manner that is eye appealing. To me that's one of them

Looks like you change of plans paid off. Congrats on pulling some nice keepers.:occasion14:

Wow yeah that's a strange spill to be sure

Maybe a kid was holding these from his collection and dropped them at the same time??? Great spill, the half cent is a very rare find and is something that is really high on my list. I've found a dozen US large cents but never a half cent. :hello2: Congrats!!!

Congratz on some great coins!

maybe not a spill...the same thing that attracted you to that spot attracted many folks over many years.a possibility anyways.I hit a scenic spot in the woods, very cool boulders with a view.hit a barber qtr.seated dime and modern clad all in the smallish area to access top of boulders.

cool digs...:occasion14:

UH OH SOMEBODY DONE LOST THERE MARBLE OVER THERE FINDS .... NICE ..

"I climb up a steep hill and at the very crest"
Yep,, I like hills. I have had my best and most plentiful finds on hills.
People like hills. They sit on hills and watch the world go by.
Congrats on some really nice finds.

Thanks everyone

Yeah I found a beautiful seated quarter on a slope last week. No one wants to hit them hard to reach areas.

The half cents are very tough to come by. Was a nice surprise

Crazy where you found these coins at. I still like the idea that someone ran up the slope the fell losing them. Now where is all the darn silver hiding. Lol
