Teknetics T2 SE, Garrett Pro-Pointer
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
This was not a detector find, but something I found in a box lot I got at an auction. Any idea what it is? It attaches to a table or bench. The long part opposite the handle turns toward the round opening. There is no blade or anything so I'm not sure what turning the handle accomplishes. It has the number 12 on it but no other words or numbers.

Hopefully someone smarter than I am can tell me what it is. Thanks!

Looks like some sort of a "Lure or Cork" jig.

Never seen how they used to make tapered corks for bottles but looks to be that size.

It's for reloading shotgun shells. Cutting wads, I think and is from the black powder days. Probably 100 years old or so...d2

Looks to me like a Cherry pitter. If it were for apples there should be a large gear for spinning the apple on it's core. Does the handle rotate? If it's like a lever and just moves back and forth, it's probably a pitter. Very early one. Very nice.

It is not a "pitter" of any kind IMO...
It is also not a "sheller"...

Just from first glance it either "packs" or "shapes the "end" or "tip" of something...
May even "shave" the end...
It is a set size item.

Like sealing shot shells etc.
