Howdy Folks. Going through some old coins I inherited from my mother. This old silver medallion has ne puzzled? It is counter stamped with an F & A along with an "0" above the moose head. No clue what it is. No other stamping on it I can see. Any ideas please feel free to comment. Nice piece of silver in between quarter and half dollar size and very thin. Thanks. 20180118_173635.jpg20180118_173549.jpg20180118_173511.jpg

Was she a farmer? Maybe the FOA stands for “Farmers of America “. Just a guess.

Pretty sure that would’ve had someone’s name and address on it, for a key ring / fob.

Fraternal Order of the Moose Club.. I doubt it but my dad belonged to the Moose club when I was a kid

Are you sure it's silver? All of the key fobs I've seen like that were aluminum or brass. It's a nice relic from a time when you could have your address on your keys and not have to worry too much

Yes, it's silver. Heavier than aluminum and has that unmistakable silver ring tone when spinning on my wood table. I reckon it might be for the Moose club. It looks pretty old. I will have to research the Moose angle.

My step dad was in the Moose club back in the day.I'll search for Moose fobs or key rings. Thanks.

It looks like the F and A were stamped into the piece after it was made. If you look closely at the A you can see another letter under it that might be a E. Maybe something to do with the Elks

I think someone repurposed a BPOE (Biggest Pricks on Earth, er, Benevolent Protectorate of Elks) medallion. Doesn't look like a Moose.
