✅ SOLVED Strange Object in Photo

A friend sent me this photo that he found with several other old photos from a storage unit auction. Does anyone have an idea as to what the object that appears to be flying might be? The other photos that were in the bunch are pretty old with some photos of horse and buggy.

Maybe a check mark on the plate or negative?

although by color the pic appears old, are those Jet vapor trails in the sky above the mark ?
Not sure how long jets existed.
As for the mark I Tend to agree underlined checkmark for some reason

I think mcb66 nailed it. After blowing the pic up...it does appear to be an underlined check mark.

Thanks for the help and yes I think that is probably what it is now that I look at it more closely. For awhile I thought it might have been a real UFO. Oh well. Thanks again for the help.
