That is a maxi-ball "tradename" they were produced in the 1980's for use in modern mussleloading rifles.

Beat me to it. It looks similar to the ones produced by Thompson Center a ways back.

Exactly like that made by TC for their early muzzle loading rifles. By early I mean late 1960s. I think stoney got it. Monty

T/C Maxi-Ball. Great penetration, poor expansion. Despised by traditional round ball shooters as the rifling twist has to be faster so most modern barrel companies use a 1:28" twist instead of a slower 1:66"+/- twist that works with round balls.
