I'm hunting a 1756 home site, finding the usual flat buttons and buckles. But this has me stumped. Made of copper or brass and about the size of a quarter. Hard to see in the photo, but it has two crusty anchor points on the back where a pin probably held this on a coat or other garment. The design on the front is very strange, with maybe a middle eastern-looking pattern. Anybody recognize these symbols?

Possibly a horse rosette?

Cool details but very hard to see in your pic. Try taking pics in natural light on a darker background. The dark background may help keep the details from being washed out by reflected light.

I've taken multiple photos with different lighting and backgrounds. That's as good as it gets. If you tap/click on the first photo and let in enlarge, you can see a good bit of detail, but it is worn and corroded. Thanks for looking anyway.
