Strange little handle?

I found this today. It appears to be copper

It is stamped Schrader Universal / E NY USA. Pat April 30-07 and July 9-0 Any ideas? It is laying in the group photo along the pennies.

I think it is too big for that. I'm thinking maybe a file handle or a razor handle of some type it is pretty big. But it could be a pen I guess.

It looks like an old Model T valve stem cover...

Eh... never mind that last idea... it probebly IS part of an old tire pressure guage...

Is it open at both ends?
I don't see how it would work as a tire pressue gauge, the end looks closed.

One end is closed and there is a rivet on the other side of the part I did a closeup on. Here is a picture of what's still inside it.

Back to my first guess... consider the valve stem cover again... also made by schrader... or, some other kind of tire/rim/valve related tool... I base that on the knurled outter case texture...

It is the tip of a gentleman's walking cane. I have one of the canes with the tip in place....just found this site when researching Schrader Universal Apr 30th, '07 & July 9, '07. Mine has a sterling silver handle and a wooden shaft (probably hickory). I had thought it belonged to my great-grandmother (1893-1962), but just found a photo of my great-great grandfather circa 1910---with the cane in his lap!
