Strange Ladle Looking Object

I discovered this about 3-4 inches down, and about 15-20 feet away from a 100+ year old barn. If it helps anybody, 2 inches to the right, and another 3-4 inches down, i found an rusty old tractor seat.

Even tractor.
My guess.

Gas pedal for above ?...
Would start here on searches.
I waited to see if anyone was gonna post from experience/knowledge first.
But again...
Just a first thought.

I did some searching... nothing exact came up... so ?
seems so familiar...like I have seen one before.
I am surprised at no more "guesses" yet.
