quite a find there! kinda creepy though now that we have that ID to look at! Congrats anyway! ;D

Take it with you the next time you go detecting.

If a little man shows up, lights a cigarette with his finger,
and offers to show you where some gold coins are buried,
then asks you to sign a "simple contract",

RUN LIKE HELL!

Thats a pentagram used by pagens and devil worshipers.

Well, it depends - sort of. If you want to get technical, the satanic version should have two points pointing up instead of the one. (notice where the attachment to the chain is). Otherwise it actually can mean a number of different things. Here's a cut and paste of a wiki. And judging by the stone that is attached to the chain I would venture to guess a neopagan/wiccan use as the stone as a source of spiritualness also.

Quote from wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram

Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice Neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol. Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, and it also has associations within Freemasonry.

The pentagram has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent. It is also associated with the Roman word lucifer, which was a term used for Venus as the Morning Star, associated with the bringer of light and knowledge. It is most likely to have originated from the observations of prehistoric astronomers. When viewed from Earth, successive inferior conjunctions of Venus plot a nearly perfect pentagram shape around the zodiac every eight years.

Actually the pentagram is considered a form of protection and the crystal point looks like it may be hematite. And Pagans are not devil worshippers as they do not believe in the devil, that term devil worshippers came from early Christians out of fear of what they did not understand. Paganism was the first earth based religion, rather then get into a heated discussion on that, it has been proven that Pagans were the first religion.

The inverted pentagram and the satanic bible was written by antoinne leVey ( messed his name up and hes deceased now) he created his own religion and church, from his book, the satanic bible. True pagans do not follow his writings.

ok paganism 101 is now over.
