I found this this past weekend in a 50' X 50' area that has produced only late colonial era relics (flat buttons w/british backmarks, a colonial shoe buckle, musketballs etc.) This item is made of lead and I have not a clue what it may be, as i usually only hunt CW relics. Any ideas?

Since it is cast lead, it could the weight for the bottom of an antique tapestry bell pull or part of an antique door knocker. It would have to be something that would 'hang' since there are no holes for screw attachments. Interesting find, Breezie
