I found this strange enameled pin.....brass backed. My guess would be 1930's/1940's based on the other items found in the same area/depth. It is VERY small...and hard to imagine it would be something worn to 'show off'. I have a few guesses as to what it depicts.....but let's here what you guys/gals think?!

I'll be watching this one, I have found 2 or 3 over the years,
all look hand painted, and different designs

and possibly 1930's or older

Older than 30's. Late Victorian ladies enamelled bar pin (turn of the 20th C).

The animal looks like a Native American glyph to me. My first thought was Improved Order of Redmen Pocahontas pin but I didn't find anything even remotely similar.

turn of the Century, would make sense, considering locations I have found them.
Here are 3 of mine

Old Man Parker from a Christmas story would like this one to go with his lamp
& definitely a Tie Tack

I have also struggled to find if there is any significance to the 'leaping animal'. A 'jumping cow' with its ears up.....a dog.....it does look like a glyph but it is hard to tell if details are missing......but I'm still having no luck identifying it. I also hesitate to attempt to clean it at all and have the animal disintegrate!

I have also found as you guys did 'the blank' which matches the size and is labeled as a Victorian ladies bar pin....but no direct match yet.
