Just wondering what bullet this is and for what gun. Found at a old military base.thanks in advance ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1427656050.414156.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1427656075.530825.jpg

I may be way off, but that don't look like a bullet to me. Looks more like it was crimped to something. Like a pc of wire or small cable. The end looks crimped.

You never know I just assumed bullet cause that's 9/10 of the targets here

Looks more like a very old tire valve stem.

Found on a military base, do you suppose it's some sort of a detonator???

Doesn't look like any detonator I am familiar with. The greatest majority of fuses and detonators are screw-in. Only the Claymore and a few Land Mines have push-in fuses/detonators.

On second thought......... It may be a PART of an old fuse ignitor. My guess is something like this:

If I am correct, the 15 on the cap may mean a 15 second delay. You would unscrew the bottom, slide the ignitor in, and screw the cap back on. Push the fuse into the exposed end and crimp it tight. Pull back on the firing pin, then let it snap and start the fuse.

Yeah G it reminds me of a hydraulic part or component to a water nozzle, fuel injector, etc.
