strange buckle

Hey people,
I've been detectin' for @ twenty years and have dug alot of buckles but I've never seen one like this,have you?I know it's nothin' fancy
and is probably of little value but i'm curios as to what it was used
for,horse tack?Shackles buckle?Found at an old foundation in north
Waterboro Me..It's not concurve like most buckles,it's concave.Any
info would be much appreciated!!!

The only thing I can think of, is that it is a purse buckle with the "loop" being for a key ring.

Will try to google it.

NO ONE take this the wrong way ,y do things like this pop up and they are HISTORICAL,SIGNIFICANT,REMARKABLE...
if it barks like a dog well.....

not a buckle but for tethering straps down, found one in 60 feet of water will look for a pic, dont expect it soon though, but sure its for tethering/tightening, ahahha whatever, 99*
